Flexible carpooling is designed to reduce the number of single occupant vehicle (SOV) drivers on the roads. The logical place to have flexible carpooling parks is at traffic convergence points that people are most likely to drive to.

However if there is a flexible carpool park close to home, a member might prefer to avoid driving from home and walk to, cycle to, or get dropped off at the flexible carpooling park. These facilities will be included in the design of the flexible carpooling park: a drop-off area, good pedestrian access, and bicycle lockers.
